LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (LAX)

EASTERLY OPERATIONS

January 13 – 15, 2020

Next week, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) plans to conduct flight checks to test the navigational equipment at LAX to ensure proper operation. These flight checks will require the FAA to transition LAX’s air traffic flow to Easterly Operations for 3 days during late night/early morning hours as follows:

  • On Monday and Tuesday, January 13th & 14th, LAX plans to conduct Easterly Operations from 12 AM to 4 AM and then transition to Over-Ocean Operations from 4 AM to 6:30 AM.
  • On Wednesday, January 15th, LAX plans to conduct Over-Ocean Operations from 12 AM to 5 AM and then transition to Easterly Operations from 5 AM to 8 AM.

Residents may notice a temporary change in aircraft flight activity and noise during these time periods as the traffic flow, Easterly Operations, will direct aircraft to arrive and depart eastbound.

Thank you for your understanding and patience during this special circumstance.
