EASTERLY OPERATIONS 
January 7, 2025

 

 

During this period of high winds, LAX is operating under Easterly Operations. This air traffic flow directs aircraft to arrive and depart eastbound and is employed only when necessary for aviation safety and aircraft performance considerations.

 

Residents may notice a temporary change in aircraft flight activity and noise during this period. 

 

According to the National Weather Service, the high winds are expected to persist for a few days. LAWA will keep monitoring the situation and provide updates as necessary.
