On Friday, November 14, LAWA celebrated LAX’s federal employees with Pink’s Hot Dogs and a movie in the boardroom. Over the course of nine hours, more than 1,200 TSA and FAA team members were served as a gesture of appreciation for their essential work during the recent federal government shutdown.
LAWA’s Federal Worker Marketplace, originally created to support our federal colleagues with essential items during the shutdown, will continue serving our partners through December 5. Donations can be dropped off daily between 5am and 11pm. at the lobby of the Airport Police Headquarters, located at 9160 Loyola Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90045.

Aviation Career Day Inspires Over 2,000 Students
at LAWA Airports |

In October, LAWA hosted its annual Aviation Career Day at both LAX and Van Nuys Airport, welcoming more than 2,000 high school students for an inside look at the dynamic world of aviation.
At Van Nuys Airport, over 700 students engaged with industry experts and learned firsthand about aviation careers. LAX set a new record, hosting 1,400 students — its largest turnout ever. Students met commercial airline pilots, flight attendants, contractors, engineers, airport police, and operations professionals, gaining valuable insights into diverse career paths.
More than 45 airport partners participated at LAX and over 20 at Van Nuys, offering interactive experiences and guidance on entering fields ranging from engineering and operations to law enforcement and piloting. Aviation Career Day remains a cornerstone event, inspiring the next generation of aviation professionals and connecting students with mentors passionate about sharing their expertise.

Santa is Coming to Los Angeles World Airports |

Get ready for holiday cheer — Santa is flying in to visit LAX and Van Nuys! Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 20, and join us for a magical experience at both LAX and Van Nuys Airport (VNY).
Event Details:
- LAX Santa Fly-In: 9 – 11am
- VNY Santa Fly-In: 2 – 4pm
Whether you’re young or just young at heart, this festive event is perfect for families and children. Enjoy holiday treats like milk and cookies, live music, arts and crafts, and a special gift for every child under 12. Santa will be making a special stop before beginning his worldwide gift deliveries — don’t miss your chance to meet him!

There is no slowing down for this Community Relations Team! Find out where we've been and where we will be below:
- On October 16, LAWA and Delta Airlines hosted a tour for the Brotherhood Crusade organization.
- The Los Angeles Airport Police Division held its annual Trunk or Treat at the LAX Police Station on October 17.
- Community Relations was on hand to give out candy and information on important airport projects.
- On October 18, LAWA had a major presence at the Taste of Soul event in South LA.
- The LAWA Community Relations team exhibited at the Sherman Oaks Street Fair, one of the San Fernando Valley's largest events, on October 19 providing pet water bowls and bags.
- LAWA participated in the Westchester Family YMCA's Halloween Spooktacular event on October 24.
- LAWA participated in the Greater San Fernando Valley Chamber's Latino Expo held at the Panorama City Mall on October 25.
- Westchester Team Challenge volunteers and members of the Inglewood Chapter of Jack and Jill were treated to an LAX airfield tour of LAX on November 8.
- On October 13, Lambda Alpha International Land Economics Society toured the Consolidated Rental Car Facility and Skylink Station G.
- The LAX Coastal Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual State of LAX event at the Westin Los Angeles Airport Hotel on November 13. More than 40 LAWA team members attended the gala which featured CEO John Ackerman as the event's keynote speaker.
- Van Nuys Airport's Chief of Airport Operations and Community Relations team members attend the Mid Valley YMCA Gala on November 14.
